Mahiki has a fantastic and unique air as soon as you step foot in it!
The music is great, the staff are always friendly and the drinks, lets just say, that it was not my finest hour!
Overall, It's a great club that cuts out all the pretentious atmosphere of west end clubs but also always provides us with a great night!
My first time at Mahiki and it was ok, the door staff were great we were a group of 10 (mainly men) and we had no issues. We managed to get two tables together and had been there most of the night before we got asked to move because the owner had some guests arriving that wanted to sit at our tables, luckily we managed to persuade the waitress to let us keep one but she could have been a little more friendly about it all. The waitresses upstairs could do with being a little more relaxed and friendly maybe take the lead from the guys downstairs who were really on form. The music was pure cheese which was spot on for the night although the DJ (if you can call him that) could not change a record to save his life but aside from all of that we had a good night and I will go back - now that I know how to play the game...
I used to go to Mahiki all the time but moved out of London for work. Having returned a month ago I have revived my love for this place! Have been so disappointed by some of my old favourite clubs but not Mahiki. It is all fun and games at this club. Very unpretentious place and amazing atmosphere. Staff really friendly like they always were, I have met clare on door and the guy is called dominick, I thought both of them and all the staff were great, they're smiling the whole time. Very impressive. Particularly like the new DJ in the lounge as well. Only tiny criticism would be that it is sometimes really cold and sometimes boiling..
We went last Saturday with a group of 8, 5 girls and 3 boys. We split up thou in the queue as we heard that they were not letting in groups. Other than that the door staff were friendly and had no problems.
The bar staff were great and made us some super great ( and strong ) cocktails.
I loved the 50s music upstairs and the disco music downstairs. We arrived about 10 an managed to get two tables close together. I would recommend getting in early and nabbing a table as the bar fills up quickly.
bar staff 5/5
drinks 5/5
wait staff 4/5
music 3/5
door staff 2/5
i had fun - but i could have fun in a bus shelter! upstairs bar great, great staff, great drinks (no, really great drinks), great music (varied, loungey, great dj). downstairs - school disco circa 1986. stay upstairs kids for a truly unique London experience.
I go to Mahiki every monday and the bad reviewers on this site have obviously not met clare! she does door on monday and is the loveliest door girl in london! charming friendly and to beautiful to describe! the bar staff are so funny and obviously very talented, drinks delicious. also tried the new food menu this week which is well worth it. go to mahiki monday!
Had my first Mahiki experience on Saturday night for my friend's birthday and have to say it lived up to the hype. The door staff were super friendly and got us in quick despite the massive queues (we were all girls though!!)
Inside the atmosphere was great, music was brilliant, crowd pretty cool for a saturday. Only negative was a little too crowded maybe at the bar, but I guess better being inside than queuing outside. Will definitely be back.
back in london after a year and went back to mahiki this saturday. used to be one of my favourite clubs before i left, and happy to report as good as ever. a lot of new staff and crowd maybe not as sloaney as before but still the same great drinks, great staff and great atmosphere. 3 years on and still going strong - well done mahiki.
