The End Closing Parties

So, it’s nearly 2009. Wow. That’s gone by pretty damned fast, scarily so actually. In the last few days of 2008 I’ll be thinking back over a year filled with parties and look forward to a year of credit crunches and redundancies. Ahem. If we’re all honest there’s an even bleaker spot on the horizon and it’s getting ever bigger in my vision. And that’s the impending doom of The End and AKA.
OK, so regular readers of my blog will know I’ve been harping on about the end of The End for months now (see …

Smirnoff Night Vision London

It’s a hard time for anyone involved in London’s nightlife market. Although it seems like I’ve been to about a thousand new bars in the last three months alone (see New Bars in London), apparently we’re in the midst of a credit crunch (although tell that to the woman who elbowed me in the stomach to get the last Wii Fit the other day!).
So my interest was immediately piqued when I heard of a new initiative being started up by Smirnoff. Acting as part of the Smirnoff Original Nights programme, the aptly named Smirnoff Night Vision aims to discover …

New Years Eve at The End

As December inexorably ticks away before my very eyes I am disturbed that I appear to have spent all of my pay already (ahem), but I'm still excited about party season. Of course, the biggest party is saved for New Years Eve (with a plethora of Christmas parties thrown into the mix in the meantime).
What are you up to this NYE? If you’ve still not bought tickets then time is running out. I don’t feel I have any other choice then to check out what The End is offering… After all, this is the last ever New Years Eve at The End before …

Chinawhite Closing

A couple of weeks ago I told you all the sad news that a number of London clubs are closing (see Central London Clubs Closing). One of these was the Marmite of London clubs Chinawhite. If ever there was a club in London that epitomised a love-it-or-hate-it venue then this place is it. In the past, it was a hotbed of celebrity activity, although in recent years it’s lost some of its A-list appeal. That said, Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson did add this club to their list of visits (see …

Celebrity DJs at London Clubs

Is it just me or are Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson just a little bit annoying? OK, really annoying. As they flounce about London DJing at some of the capital’s best known celebrity haunts, there’s rarely a day that goes by when their photo isn’t plastered across the newspapers.
It’s been reported that Sam earns up to £70,000 a set if she brings Lindsay with her. Bargain! I guess, at least they’re actually DOING something, unlike Paris Hilton who was recently paid mega bucks just to go to clubs in and around London. Miss Ronson has DJd at some of our biggest clubs, including Cafe De Paris, …
